Will You Inspire Reece Students to Grow?

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are healthy and safe during this uncertain time.

This week, I’ve been reflecting on a quote by Abraham Lincoln:

“The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.”

During this pandemic, the resilience and adaptability of our students has been incredible to witness.

We have moved to individualized online distance learning sessions with educators, therapists and special service providers. Our students continue to receive instruction that is focused on learning rather compliance; investigation rather than test taking; and creativity.

Yes, above all else, creativity.

Abraham Lincoln’s words are especially resonant today. COVID-19 has forced us to ‘think anew and act anew.’ Our faculty and staff have worked alongside you, our parents, to create a dynamic environment in which your children can learn and grow. Together, we are creating a culture of creativity that does not ‘teach to the test’, but instead inspires curiosity in each and every Reece student.

I challenge you to support us in our efforts to inspire creativity in our students. I challenge you to ‘think anew and act anew.’

Will you give and help our students grow creatively? Will you support our students’ learning when they need you most?

Sincerely,
