Yoga In The Classroom
Classroom 410 brings yoga to the classroom! We had so much fun using the yoga mats and watching a yoga video for children. The students were engaged immediately. By incorporating yoga into the classroom, students have an opportunity to learn that their minds control their bodies. They learn about meeting life with breath; about being both steady and flexible; and they engage in slow, deep breathing to help them calm themselves. The breathing exercises allow for some downtime while they are still physically moving their bodies. These are amazing tools for our students to have and we are hopeful that by continuing to practice yoga in the classroom, the students will be more aware of their own body and continue to develop additional strategies to benefit both mind and body.
