The Reece School faculty consists of creative and dedicated educators who enthusiastically provide academic programs to meet each child’s present level of functioning and needs. Staff also includes clinicians in the fields of speech and language, occupational therapy, counseling and school psychology, and a part-time reading specialist. A consulting pediatric psychiatrist works with staff on a scheduled basis to advise on difficult issues as they arise. All staff collaborate to help each child meet the demands of his/her disabilities and improve educational outcomes, growth, and development. On-going staff development and staff training are provided. Faculty present with a clear vision of the modified elementary education program. They have strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor. Our professional staff is committed to increasing their personal mastery. Current staff have all been trained in Lindamood Bell “Visualizing and Verbalizing”, On Cloud Nine. Many are also trained in Stern Mathematics. Our nurse is responsible for all medical records, dispensing medicine that is prescribed by physicians, and helping teach a variety of related health units.
Wednesday weekly team meetings are held all year and classroom teams rotate on the schedule to provide opportunities for all who are involved. With each class we discuss and strategize as a group and for individuals. These discussions are held with our Executive Director, Education and Clinical Coordinators and consulting pediatric psychologists.
