The Reece School occupies an exceptional place among the special education schools of the metropolitan region. The Reece School specializes in working with children whose disabilities are complex due to developmental delays in more than one area. The typical Reece student experiences delays in language development, various academic subjects, sensory integration, perceptual awareness, and/or motor skills. The children at the Reece School exhibit average to above average intellect. They need a very special environment that recognizes the complexity of their underlying issues. Our warm, supportive, therapeutic model offers opportunities for children to gain academic skills while building on social skills and provides support to transfer these skills to the larger community. The Reece School operates a school store with the oldest two classes running the store. Opportunities to work in the school store help build social skills and increase children's money skills.
